I am excited to see what else comes from this brand as they are positioning themselves very well, in my opinion. Too often brands get caught up in trends and competing with each other that the very art of innovation gets lost. I hope that RSW continues to move forward with blinders on, creating their own real path.

And it's not a traditional look at all - period. For women's watches - this is a whole different game.
At Basel next month we will see the new Hamilton Ventura XXL Automatic watch. A serious update on the styling makes it a true Ventura watch only to serious enthusiasts. New comers to the model might not even associate it with the original iconic watch design. The watch gets some needed refinement and updating. Notable are the smoother integration between the lug structure and the strap, as well and the more angular look of the case and face. Still, smooth curves define much of the surface, but don't make up the shape itself. The crown itself is integrated - Cartier Roadster style - into the case and crystal (which looks to have some curvature). The case is made of steel with an Anthracite PVD color coating. Size is up to 42mm wide, and taller still - hence the XXL name in the watch. Regardless, the watch is not huge, just larger than the original that was maybe 35-36mm wide. Right not at least, only a rubber strap will be offered. I hope to see a return to the two-tone contrasting strap look soon.

With an impressive 100 meters of water resistance, a special Certina DS crown security system (to protect from damage), and an AR coated domed sapphire crystal, this is to be the value of the year for under ,000. The 316L grade steel case is 43mm wide, which is the perfect size for today's tastes. The case polish varies between high gloss and satin, which add visual depth and interest to face and bracelet. Also note the exhibition caseback window. You can't see it in the image above, but as this is a 'retro' themed watch design, Certina chose to stamp the brand older logo on the watch crown. Collectors like stuff like that. Look for the official release very soon.
From one of the coolest and quirkiest luxury watch makers around, de GRISOGONO, comes the Fuso Quadrato watch for 2009. Aside from the interesting shutter-style complication the watch looks pretty stylish in its 47mm 18k pink or white gold glory. The rounded square case will look good particularly good on the wrist as sometimes harsh geometric angles looks awkward on the organic shapes of our hands. While the watch is clearly from the de GRISOGONO line, it is a very new design direction for the company. Powering the watch is the automatic mechanical de GRISOGONO DF 21-90 movement with hours, minutes, and a second time zone hand.
